BIOGRAPHY:

My education was grounded in conceptual/minimalist art. Some of my early influences were Anne Truit, Sam Gilliam, Craig Kauffman and Tony Delap. Over time, I became disenchanted with purely formal art and how it created a distance between the art and the viewer. I was intrigued with the idea of involving the viewer in the art experience and I started working on large-scale, interactive installations that incorporated writing, sound, and performance. The installation work culminated with a 5,000 sq. ft. circus on the grounds of the U.C. Irvine campus.

From 1990 until I retired in 2017, I worked in Information Technology, first as a Software Developer, and then as a Project Manager, and only made Art sporadically. In 2017, I returned to making Art full-time
